Barenreiter´s Easy Concertos is a new series of the most popular concertos and concert pieces for young violinists. The editions are edited by Kurt Sassmannshaus, the internationally renowned violin teacher and co-author of the Sassmannshaus string method. His forewords introduce these little gems and describe their technical requirements. The volumes form an ideal continuation of the Sassmannshaus violin method and can partially be used in parallel from volume three onwards. Of course, they will supplement any other violin method as well.
The series will be continued and will gradually introduce more demanding repertoire to bridge the gap from violin methods to standard concert literature.
Jean Baptiste Accolay´s Concerto in A minor is also a standard work for violin classes. The composer uses the full range of the violin in beautiful cantilenas and elegant passage work. The one movement composition with its many character changes is ideally suited for student recitals.
