An authoritative Urtext edition of the six Sonatas for Recorder and Continuo, written by Handel between the years of 1724 and 1726.
The pieces are part of a larger collection of Sonatas written by Handel around this time, connected to the great composer´s employment as music-master to Princesses Anne and Caroline, daughters of the future King George II. This Urtext edition is derived from Handel´s original manuscripts, with full editorial details and a detailed discussion of the differing editions as they have existed over the years. Separate performance parts are included for the solo Recorder and the figured Bass, alongside the full Piano/Keyboard score. Edited by Terence Best.
